Giorgio Tesi Group awarded as best nursery company in Europe at the IGOTY Awards 2023 of AIPH during IPM Essen

The Pistoia-based nursery company, the first Italian to reach the finals of the important international competition, wins the silver medal in the Finished Plants & Trees category

At the IPM in Essen, the world’s leading trade fair for horticulture, is the most important global event in your industry with 1,577 exhibitors from 45 nations, in the context of the International Grower of the Year (IGOTY) 2023 competition by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) won this year by the Canadian company Brookdale Treeland Nurseries Ltd, a very important result for the Giorgio Tesi Group of Pistoia in the IGOTY Awards 2023.

Established in 2009 with the support of Royal FloraHolland and FloraCulture International, the IGOTY Awards recognise the best practices in horticulture of the most important ornamental production nurseries around the world, highlighting the experience, history, quality and energy they offer to the entire sector.

Giorgio Tesi Group, is one of the leading plant nurseries in Europe for the production of ornamental plants and surfaces and dimensions cultivated, received silver in the Finished Plants & Trees category, a great result for the entire nursery sector, both Italian and continental.

For our company, which just this year celebrates 50 years of activity," said Fabrizio Tesi, legal representative of the Giorgio Tesi Group, "it is indeed a great pride to have obtained this important international recognition and a further reason for satisfaction is that we are the first Italian nursery company to reach the finals and be awarded. This is an important stimulus to look with great optimism at the future of our sector with the aim of strongly re-launching the role of Italian nurseries in the world.

I am particularly happy - said Leonardo Capitanio, President of AIPH - for the important and well-deserved result obtained by the Italian nursery industry thanks to the Giorgio Tesi Group, to whom I extend my congratulations. With my work I am trying to bring to the whole world the Italian nursery industry, which is rich in history, tradition and so much quality, and important results like this obtained by the Pistoia nursery company give us all a reason to celebrate and to look ahead with confidence.

Further recognition for a company that has always stood out for its commitment to environmental sustainability - it was the first Italian company to obtain EMAS certification - and technological innovation. A great success for Made in Italy and for Tuscan and Pistoia plants, which the company exports to over 60 countries around the world while remaining deeply tied to its territory.
